What Problem We are Solving
Problem
Disaster recovery is an expensive, time consuming, and complex process. We know through personal recovery experience that existing aid processes alone lack infrastructure for specific in-kind donations & aren’t sufficient to meet needs of disaster-affected communities. Regardless of the level of insurance coverage, the current patchwork system for recovery creates inequality and efficiency challenges for rebuilding, while also posing transparency barriers for those willing to contribute.
About Us
About Us
Rebuildee is a crowdfunded disaster-recovery marketplace that increases efficiency, accessibility, and transparency in disaster recovery. This gift registry-like disaster recovery service is similar to GoFundMe, except users request specific items they need rather than money. Our platform connects requesters who are in need of help after a disaster, with helpers to fund the items requested, and local businesses to fulfill requests strengthening local economies when they are most vulnerable.
Our MVP launched at the end of September 2022. Rebuildee does not hold any inventory, instead acting as facilitators between requesters, helpers, and businesses. We currently utilize Amazon to facilitate item fulfillment in order to prove the MVP and generate initial transactions. However, we will start building out our local business network early 2023 to facilitate transactions and to support local communities on a regional basis. See link for MVP video demo.

Business Model
Business Model
Rebuildee has 2 primary revenue streams. 1st, Rebuildee will take a 5% Platform Fee from “Helpers” upon contribution plus voluntary tips. Ex. If the request has a $100 value, we keep $5 and the remaining $95 consists of: item cost, taxes, & Stripe fees. Any excess amount from item cost is rolled over into other items requested or other campaigns. 2nd, we will take a 5% lead-gen commission from the value of an item request fulfilled by “Businesses.” People in need will never pay to receive aid.

Go-To Market Strategy
Business Strategy
Rebuildee launched at the end of September 2022. We have begun onboarding ~30 users and are continuing to acquire more. Our user acquisition plan consists of: paid ads, content & email marketing, shared listings, PR, SEO, & community ambassadors. We are in the process of setting up strategic partnerships using rev-share deals with National Volunteer Organizations Active In Disaster, Faith Based Organizations, and other first-response organizations to help Rebuildee with direct user acquisition.
We are open to meeting up to grab a coffee, or just to chat.
We would really enjoy your feedback and insight into our venture and would be happy to discuss anything that you are currently working on to see if we can be of service!
