In recent years, cell/gene therapies have been transforming medicine. One promising category is ex-vivo cell/gene therapy in which target cells are isolated from patients/healthy donors, genetic coding molecules are delivered to the cells in vitro, and the engineered cells are then given to the patients for treatment. Despite encouraging results, the current ex-vivo cell/gene therapy products are expensive, have long manufacturing times, and require complex facilities, instruments, and extensive quality control (QC). The existing tools do not allow for the precise delivery of genetic coding molecules into large populations of cells simultaneously, and result in therapeutic products with risks in quality, safety, and treatment efficacy.

Cellecho’s patented technology, termed Acoustic-Electric Shear Orbiting Poration (or AESOP) enables uniform and precision engineering of one’s own immune cells to fight off mutated or infected cells stemming from cancer and other diseases. Unlike other similar technologies, by delivering genetic coding molecules uniformly into many cells at once, Cellecho’s AESOP can safely deliver large molecules at precise dosages. The value proposition is a wider range of cell engineering functions to engineer different types of cells and different delivery molecules.
Cellecho’s strategy is to partner with pharmaceutical companies to preclinically develop cell therapy products using the AESOP technology. Our immediate priority is to target research project leaders in pharmaceutical companies who are seeking cell engineering platforms without the use of viral vectors.
