Small to medium sized events attract over 400 million attendees per year - almost triple that of large events like major concerts or sports games. Yet, corporate sponsors who spend $16.8 billion targeting large events cannot today cost-effectively reach this larger audience. Planana will aggregate small to medium event audiences into a target-able network for marketers - "Google AdWords for live event sponsorship". Planana aggregates these audiences by addressing the most pressing problem for organizers, which is promoting their events. We currently generate revenue by charging a fee for tickets sold on Planana. We will also be charging for access to the promotional tools and implementing a CPM model for sponsors.

We view our competitors as other platforms that provide a channel for brands to interact with consumers. In the events space, the main online competitors are Sponsorhub and Sponsorfied. However, unlike these competitors, Planana enables brands to sponsor events so that they tap into the networks of the attendees, not just the attendees. Planana also allows brands to have an industry-wide standard for sponsorship ROI, because we are able to track the social media buzz as well as the increase in sales that result from brands sponsoring events.

We are targeting brands that are looking for new ways to engage with their demographic. We are acquiring brands by creating partnerships with agencies and media buying groups, directly contacting events that already have sponsors and building relationships with sponsorship executives within brands.
