Description

The Dream Bigger Challenge will showcase pitches from US-based pre-seed / seed stage startups that have at least one (1) Filipino-American co-founder. We have strong preference for startups that have potential to expand to the Philippines and/or have an intentional vision for uplifting millions of Filipino lives. The pitch event will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place cash grants/services to the winning teams plus facilitate introductions to other potential investors.

In our view, the 2024 Dream Bigger Challenge will be successful if relationships across the Filipino-American startup community are strengthened and win-win partnerships are catalyzed to help advance Filipino-led startups.

About Dream Bigger
Dream Bigger is on a mission to unlock values-aligned partnerships for Filipino-led startups. Since 2021, Dream Bigger has provided whole-life leadership training, tailored mentorship and access to capital for 30+ early-stage Filipino Founders based in the Philippines through our accelerator program. In 2024, we're excited to extend support to Filipino-American Founders based in the US through our inaugural Dream Bigger Challenge.

Eligibility

The startup must:

Have at least 1 Filipino-American co-founder.
Have at least a minimum viable product with a growing number of customers.
Be incorporated in the United States, preferably as a Delaware C-Corp.
Be able to attend the Dream Bigger Challenge live in the SF Bay Area on October 25, 2024.

Preference will be given to:

Startups building a scalable technology solution in pre-seed / seed stage.
Startups with an intentional vision and roadmap for uplifting at least 1 million Filipino lives and/or expanding to the Philippines.
Founders that are already working full time on the startup and fundraising for the first time.

Process

Applications Due - June 30, 2024
Interviews - July 15 to August 15, 2024
Finalists Selected - August 30, 2024
Dream Bigger Challenge* - October 25, 2024 in SF Bay Area

*Finalists must be able to attend in-person to pitch

What an Applicant can Obtain

Cash grants and services valued at:
1. $20,000 for the 1st place winner
2. $10,000 for the 2nd place winner
3. $5,000 for the 3rd place winner
Access to a curated network of investors, mentors and potential partners with shared commitment to supporting Filipino-American Founders.
Lifelong access to Dream Bigger's global community and exclusive events.
