Description
Follow the instructions to upload your company profile and founders' profiles. Note that once your deal room is live on our Sparkxyz platform you will be able to pushbutton-share with hundreds of other participating angel networks, accelerators, incubators and venture catalysts that use the same software.
Eligibility
Entrepreneurs of all backgrounds are invited to apply to present at JAN monthly meetings. Founders do not need to be Jewish. In fact, we often syndicate rounds with other "identity" angel groups in our network. Our investment thesis in this regard is that entrepreneurs from underrepresented groups have more motivating factors and a great deal of persistence, improving the odds of their success. By the same token, the Jewish investor network has great connections to offer these startups.
Our geographical focus is the USA (ideally from the Pacific Northwest but we will consider deals from other regions) and Israel. Startups will typically have valuations in the range of $5M-$15M. They do not necessarily need to be tech deals, but must be highly scalable businesses.
Process
Meetings are generally held on the second Wednesday of every month (with exceptions for certain holidays). Three to four companies are selected to pitch at each meeting.
There is no fee to apply to present at the monthly Jewish Angel Network meeting. As part of the due diligence process, our mentors will work with finalists to perfect their pitches, and each will be offered the opportunity to practice their final pitches, either in person at the venue or virtually with the coaches.
Finalists will be notified one to two weeks before the next meeting if they have been selected. They can choose to present to the next meeting or a future meeting if their schedule doesn't align.
Each presenting company will be charged a $400 commitment fee. This secures their position to present, and provides for a demo table at the meeting. Two representatives from the company may be present on the day of the meeting. All food & beverage, parking, are included. The meetings are held at Venture Mechanics, located at 14110 NE 21st St, Bellevue, WA 98007.
What an Applicant can Obtain
While our members will collaborate on the due diligence process, each member of the JAN invests on an individual basis.
One advantage of submitting your business plan to the JAN is that you can transfer your entire dealroom to any other angel group or collective on the SparkXYZ platform with a single pushbutton. We will often recommend other groups to apply to in order to help round out your raise if our group did not speak for all of it.
