Description
Young Entrepreneur Institute (YEI) is a nonprofit educational organization based in Hunting Valley, Ohio that helps K–12 students nationwide develop entrepreneurial skills, real-world business experience, and workforce readiness through interactive programs. YEI cultivates creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, and business fundamentals via pitch challenges, market opportunities, fellowship experiences, tools, and educator resources. It partners with schools and community organizations to expand access to entrepreneurship learning.

• K–12 students — YEI’s primary audience is school-aged youth interested in entrepreneurship.
• Programs like NextStage Fellowship require students to operate a product or service-based business with revenue to participate in funding pitch elements.
• Educators and schools can register classes or groups for YEI programming through institutional participation.
Process
Enrollment/Registration: Students or classes register for signature programs (e.g., Pitch Challenge, Young Entrepreneur Market) through the YEI website.
Program Participation: Young entrepreneurs receive instruction, mentor guidance, and opportunities to build and sell products or services, depending on the program.
Fellowship/Accelerator: Students participating in the NextStage Fellowship complete an 8-week guided curriculum involving mentor support, business model refinement, branding, and strategy development.
Pitch / Presentation: Throughout certain programs, students present ideas or business plans to peers and mentors, often pitching for small funding awards or recognition.
