Description
Joules Accelerator is a nonprofit cleantech accelerator based in Charlotte, North Carolina that helps advanced grid, clean energy, and climate tech startups accelerate commercialization by identifying high-potential ventures, advising on business and deployment strategy, connecting them to utilities/industry partners, and helping deploy technologies with pilot and revenue opportunities. The program runs two ~90-day cohorts per year and offers free programming, warm introductions to pilots and customers, and integration into a large network of industry advisors and deployment partners.
Eligibility
• Advanced grid and energy tech startups addressing utility, grid modernization, or energy infrastructure challenges.
• Teams with technology readiness and potential for pilot or deployment with utilities or corporate partners.
• Founders capable of engaging with a network of industry experts, utilities, and capital partners.
• Stage preference centers on pre-seed to early venture rounds with traction toward commercialization.
Process
Application: Startups apply through Joules’ online cohort application.
Interview & Selection: Applicants are reviewed, interviewed, and selected as finalists for a cohort.
Cohort Participation: Founders engage in 90 days of advisory support, pilot facilitation, industry network introductions, and strategic sessions with Joules advisors.
Ecosystem Engagement: Startups participate in events and pitch opportunities within the Joules network to share asks and align with utility and corporate partners.
Follow-On Commercialization: After the program, companies remain connected to the network for pilot opportunities, scaling support, and funding introductions.
