KidsX

KidsX is a global ecosystem of pediatric innovators, anchored by a consortium of the leading children’s hospitals motivated to accelerate health innovation and transform care in the pediatric space.

Los Angeles, CA, USA

Description

KidsX is a global ecosystem and pediatric digital health accelerator focused on accelerating innovation that improves pediatric healthcare delivery. It brings together leading children’s hospitals, providers, investors, entrepreneurs, and corporate partners to co-create, validate, and scale digital solutions tailored specifically to pediatric medicine — an area that historically receives much less innovation focus than adult healthcare.

Specific Program / Funding Stage
Early-Stage Digital Health & Pediatric Innovation Focus

  • The KidsX Accelerator primarily targets early-stage companies with digital health solutions that are ready to engage with pediatric healthcare systems and validate product/market fit in the pediatric setting.

  • It is structured as a multi-week accelerator program (historically ~13 weeks) that helps founders work with clinical and administrative leaders from leading children’s hospitals to co-develop solutions addressing high-impact pediatric challenges.

  • Startup participants often have an MVP or functional product and are in seed-to-early growth stages. Ideas alone are typically not accepted — the focus is on companies with tangible solutions that can be iteratively tested and validated with pediatric partners.

Investment Amount and Equity (Company-Level)
Non-Equity Accelerator Model

  • KidsX does not take equity in participating companies. All accelerator programs and innovation initiatives under KidsX are equity-free and fee-free for participating startups.

  • The value of the program comes through access to pediatric hospital networks, mentorship, clinical validation opportunities, and demos to healthcare stakeholders, rather than direct capital checks.

Equity Taken

  • None by KidsX as part of accelerator participation or innovation programs.

Equity Structure
  • Because KidsX is not a venture capital investor, there is no standard equity stake, valuation, or preferred share structure tied to its accelerator cohorts.

  • Any future funding received by participating companies typically comes from external investors or subsequent rounds led by VCs or strategic healthcare partners.

Application / Submission Method
How to Apply

  • Founders apply online during open application windows specific to each accelerator cohort or pitch competition cycle.

  • Applications are evaluated by KidsX staff and participating children’s hospital innovation leaders based on team strength, product fit for pediatric needs, and collaborative potential.

Selection Process

  • Shortlisted companies may be interviewed virtually, and finalists are selected to join the accelerator or pitch competitions that run alongside the flagship KidsX events.
