Founders Space

Founders Space is a Venture Builder headquartered in San Francisco.

San Francisco, CA, USA

Description

Venture Capital Access / Funding Evaluation

  • Founders Space operates a venture support function (“Founders Space Ventures”) where startups can be considered for venture funding introductions or investment. It does not publicly publish standard check sizes or fixed equity terms; instead, companies are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and the top ~2% of applicants receive follow-up contact from the team.

  • Application to the venture arm is manual (e.g., founders submit background, business plan, product links, etc.).

  • Because equity terms are not standardized across all participants, any investment or equity deal comes from negotiation per startup and is not uniformly published like an accelerator term sheet.

Mentoring & Introductions Rather Than Direct Checks

  • Many startups “receive access to venture capital” through network introductions, pitch events, and advisor connections rather than a direct check from Founders Space itself. The organization’s public materials emphasize education, investor exposure, and venture readiness

Equity Structure
  • Equity Taken (Contextual / Variable): There is no published standard equity percentage that Founders Space takes for participation in its programs. Any equity involvement is likely part of case-by-case investment arrangements rather than a fixed accelerator take-rate.

  • Program access such as mentoring, online courses, or networking does not inherently require giving up equity.

Application / Submission Method
How to Engage

  • Startups apply via Founders Space’s online forms for specific programs (e.g., venture funding consideration or online startup programs).

  • Founders Space also runs online courses and innovation programs that are open to participants without a formal pitch to investors.

Interaction Model

  • Depending on the pathway, founders may:

    • Participate in mentoring and training programs

    • Attend workshops and coaching sessions

    • Engage with investors if selected for deeper follow-up

  • The intake is selective for the venture support path — with only a small percentage of applications (e.g., ~2%) moving to follow-up review.

Eligibility

Sector Focus

  • Broad, technology-oriented startups — generally software, data, AI/ML, SaaS, fintech, digital media, and related tech categories.

Stage

  • Pre-seed to seed (early stage), with a strong focus on founders preparing for institutional funding.

Geography

  • Global, but headquartered in the United States (San Francisco, CA) and particularly geared toward founders looking to enter or scale within Silicon Valley.

Team Profile

  • Founders looking for strategic mentoring, capital readiness training, investor connections, and a global network.

Process

  1. Application Submission: Founders send their business details (plan, product, background).

  2. Screening: The Founders Space team evaluates for venture support or program entry. Those meeting criteria move to follow-up.

  3. Mentorship & Training: Accepted founders engage in mentoring or online programs.

  4. Investor Interaction: For those chosen for venture follow-up, deeper reviews and investor introductions occur.

Note: Because Founders Space operates multiple program layers (training vs. venture support), selection criteria and process length may vary.

What an Applicant can Obtain
