Los Angeles Venture Partners (LAVP) is an angel group and community for accredited investors based in Los Angeles, California. It provides educational resources, networking opportunities, and a curated selection of investment opportunities in high-growth U.S.-based startups. LAVP focuses on companies that have moved past the initial prototype stage and already have market traction. 
  • Target Stage: Companies with annual revenue between $250k and $5M.
  • Maturity: They look for businesses with proven market fit that are ready for capital to scale to the next stage. 
  • Method: The firm sources deals through its network of accelerators and VC funds. Founders can submit a pitch via the LAVP website form.
  • Materials: A pitch deck or executive summary is required.
  • Vetting Focus: The team prioritizes exceptional founders from all backgrounds who can clearly answer the "Why Now" for their product. 
  • Rolling Basis: LAVP accepts inquiries and reviews proposals on a rolling basis year-round.
  • Recent Investment: Their most recent publicly announced investment was in Limelight, a B2B creator platform, in late 2025.
  • Investment Amount: Individual investment minimums are low ($1,000), facilitating syndicated deals alongside other investors.
  • Percentage Equity: Equity stakes are negotiated on a deal-by-deal basis. LAVP charges a low annual fee of $100 for members and a 10% carry on any investment returns.

Eligibility

  • Geography: Must be a U.S.-based company legally tied to the United States.
  • Sectors: Industry-agnostic, but primary revenue cannot come from anything requiring FDA approval (e.g., medical devices).
  • Revenue: Must have existing annual revenue between $250k and $5M.
  • Founder Profile: Strong educational backgrounds and prior startup experience are prioritized. 

Process

  1. Initial Screening: Experienced teams conduct market research and due diligence to identify promising companies that fit their criteria.
  2. Founder Calls: Calls are held with founders of companies that show the highest promise.
  3. Member Presentation: When the LAVP team is ready to invest personally, the entrepreneur is invited to present the deal to the full investor community.
  4. Individual Investment: Members can invest as little as $1,000 into a deal they like, with no obligation to invest in every opportunity presented. 

What an Applicant can Obtain
