• Follow-on Capacity: JumpStart maintains funds with capacity to provide follow-on capital through Series A and B stages for top-performing portfolio companies. 
• Method: Founders can apply through the JumpStart online application portal for both advising services and capital consideration.
• Advisory First: Often, the application process begins with enrollment in their advising programs, which helps vet the company for potential funding readiness. 

Eligibility

• Geography: Strong preference for companies operating in Northeast Ohio (specifically the 25 counties they serve).
• Sectors: High-growth technology sectors including SaaS, HealthTech, Advanced Manufacturing, FinTech, and Energy/CleanTech.
• Diversity & Inclusion: As a mission-driven firm, JumpStart strongly prioritizes supporting diverse founders (women, people of color, LGBTQIA+, veterans). 

Process

1. Intake & Advising: Initial screening is done by the advisory team to determine the best path (advising, capital, or both).
2. Investment Committee: Companies seeking funding present to an internal investment committee that meets regularly.
3. Due Diligence: A thorough evaluation of the business model, team, and technology is conducted.
4. Portfolio Services: Once funded, companies receive access to a robust platform of services, including executive recruiting, strategic planning, and GTM assistance.
