Description

In 2026, IrishAngels continues to operate as a premier early-stage venture capital firm and angel network primarily composed of investors affiliated with the University of Notre Dame. Headquartered in Chicago with an additional office in Denver, the group focuses on high-potential startups across the United States.
  • Pre-Seed & Seed: This remains their primary investment window.
  • Target Round Size: They typically invest in startups raising rounds of $1 million to $3 million.
  • Valuation Cap: For the 2026 cycle, they generally look for pre-money valuations no greater than $12 million
  • Method: Founders can apply directly through the official IrishAngels website or via their Gust portal.
  • Lead Investor Required: Startups must have a term sheet issued from a lead investor before applying for syndication from IrishAngels.

Eligibility

  • No "Domer" Requirement: While the 300+ investors all have a link to the University of Notre Dame, they do not exclusively fund founders with a Notre Dame connection.
  • Geography: Startups must be corporations located in the United States.
  • Sectors: Core activity is focused on B2B SaaS, Consumer Tech, and Medical Devices/HealthTech.
  • Traction: Preference is given to companies showing initial signs of product-market fit, such as early revenue and strong growth potential.

Process

  • Selection: The vetting process is rigorous, often including a startup pitch to professionals at the firm and detailed due diligence.
  • Meeting Format: While historically quarterly in-person meetings were held in Chicago, the network has transitioned to a hybrid or remote model via Zoom.

What an Applicant can Obtain

  • Strategic Capital: Access to funding from an organization that has deployed over $65 million into 100+ companies since 2012.

  • Founder Support: Post-investment assistance includes regular check-ins and strategic guidance to help founders scale toward successful exits.
