New York, NY, USA

Description

Indicator Ventures is an early-stage venture capital firm based in New York City and Boston. Founded in 2014, the firm focuses on "Digital Efficiency"—investing in software-driven solutions that automate and optimize workflows for the enterprise and the modern workforce.
  • Pre-Seed & Seed: This is the firm’s core entry point. They specialize in being the first institutional check and often lead or co-lead the round.
  • Post-Product: They typically look for companies that have a functional product and are seeing early signs of product-market fit or "Digital Efficiency" in their target market.
Indicator Ventures operates as a traditional, high-conviction venture fund.
  • Method: Founders typically engage through the Indicator Ventures contact portal or via professional referrals from their network of operators and co-investors.
  • Selection Criteria: They seek founders building "unsexy" but essential software that solves high-value problems in legacy industries.
  • Materials: A pitch deck and a clear articulation of the "efficiency wedge"—how the product significantly reduces time or cost for the customer.

Eligibility

  • Sectors: B2B SaaS, Enterprise Software, Fintech, Future of Work, and Supply Chain/Logistics.
  • Geography: Primarily North America (with hubs in NYC, Boston, and San Francisco).
  • Business Model: Preference for capital-efficient, high-margin software businesses with high retention potential.

Process

  1. Thesis Alignment: Evaluation of whether the startup fits the "Digital Efficiency" framework.
  2. High-Engagement Diligence: A 4-to-6 week process involving customer discovery, technical review, and market analysis.
  3. The "Operator" Model: Post-investment, they provide active, hands-on support. They leverage a "Council" of veteran operators to provide tactical advice to founders.
  4. Strategic Support: Focused on helping founders transition from "founder-led sales" to a repeatable go-to-market engine.

What an Applicant can Obtain

  1. Institutional Capital: Access to funding from a firm with a proven track record of backing successful B2B exits.
  2. Operational Mentorship: Access to the Indicator Council, a group of seasoned executives from companies like Salesforce, Google, and Slack.
  3. GTM Playbooks: Direct assistance in refining sales sequences, pricing strategies, and enterprise contract structures.
  4. Follow-on Network: Strong connections to Tier-1 Series A and B firms for subsequent fundraising.
