TechFW is a non-profit startup incubator and accelerator headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. Established in 1998, it specializes in helping technology entrepreneurs commercialize and scale their businesses without taking an equity stake. 
  • Equity-Free Support: TechFW does not provide direct investment from its own capital; instead, it is an equity-free accelerator.
  • Stage Focus: It supports founders from the Ideation stage (ThinkLab) to Commercialization (SmartStart) and through Scaling (FastForward).
  • Investor Readiness: The programs are designed to prepare startups to pitch to outside investors, specifically through its partner network, Cowtown Angels

  • Programs:

Eligibility

  • Sectors: High-potential technology sectors including Life Sciences, AI, Energy, Defense, Mobility, and Cleantech.
  • Geography: Primarily focused on founders in Fort Worth and North Texas.
  • Entity Type: For-profit companies; life-science startups should ideally be nearing or in human trials for advanced programs. 

Process

  1. Discovery Call: After applying, the team reviews the startup’s tech and goals to determine program fit.
  2. Cohort/Individual Coaching: Startups move through structured modules led by Tier 1 coaches and subject matter experts.
  3. Technical Resources: Access to shared workspace at the Guinn Campus, conference rooms, and professional services partners (attorneys, CPAs).
  4. Graduation/Pitch: Culminates in a graduation pitch at "Startup Bites" or a formal presentation to the Cowtown Angels network. 

What an Applicant can Obtain

  • Coaching & Mentorship: Access to experienced business coaches and a community of peer doers.
  • AWS Perks: Up to $5,000 in free AWS Cloud credits and one year of AWS Business Support.
  • Technical Credits: Eligibility for a $10,000 credit through partner TMAC for technology development.
  • Investor Access: Direct pathway to pitch to the Cowtown Angels network for early-stage capital.
