Description

TiE Atlanta Angels (TAA) is a prominent member-led angel investment network based in Atlanta, Georgia, and a chapter of TiE Global. It connects accredited investors with high-growth startups, primarily focusing on the Southeast United States. As of early 2026, the group has invested over $11.4 million in 61 startups since its inception in 2017.
  • Seed & Series A: TAA specializes in these early institutional stages.
  • Revenue Traction: They prioritize companies with at least 6 to 12 months of consistent revenue traction.
  • Funding Milestone: Applicants must have already raised and have available at least 50% of their current target round.
  • Direct Inquiry: Founders meeting the investment criteria should email their executive summary, pitch deck, and financials to [email protected].
  • Referral Preference: While anyone can apply, the group prefers entrepreneurs to be referred by a TiE Charter Member.
  • ACCESS Program: For 2026, the ACCESS program continues to bridge the funding gap for underrepresented founders (women and minorities).

Eligibility

  • Geography: Strong preference for companies in the Southeast US (Georgia, Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee).
  • Sectors: Industry-agnostic, with heavy activity in FinTech, Healthcare, SaaS, Media Tech, Robotics, and Food & Beverage.
  • Lead Investor Requirement: A lead investor must already be identified with set terms and ready legal documents.

Process

The group follows a structured quarterly vetting cycle:
  1. Online Screening: Initial review of submitted materials by the management team.
  2. Screening Committee: Selected startups participate in a preliminary meeting with industry experts.
  3. Quarterly Dinner Showcase: Top finalists give a 5-minute presentation followed by a 3-minute Q&A to the full network of accredited investors.
  4. Due Diligence: If sufficient interest is shown, a collaborative team conducts a deep-dive review with a goal to reach a decision within 30 days of the showcase.

What an Applicant can Obtain

  • Strategic Capital: Access to funding from one of the Southeast’s most active angel networks.
  • The "Multiplier Effect": Mentorship, industry expertise, and high-level networking to help scale faster.
  • Diversity Support: specialized mentorship and potential non-dilutive grants through programs like ACCESS for underrepresented founders.
