Description

Centennial Investors (CI) is an angel investment network based in Columbia, Missouri, that provides seed and early-stage capital to high-potential startups in Missouri and adjoining states. Founded in 2006, it focuses on bridging the gap between university-generated ideas and private sector commercialization.
  • Startup & Early-Stage: CI targets companies that have moved past initial research and are ready to bring products or services to market.
  • Technology & Science Based: Preference is given to ventures rooted in scientific or technical innovation.
  • Method: Founders apply through the Angelsoft platform (often referred to via MOSourceLink) and must pay a $100 application fee.

Eligibility

  • Geography: Primarily focused on Mid-Missouri, though it considers companies throughout Missouri and adjoining states.
  • Scalability: Ventures must demonstrate substantial growth potential, ideally targeting $20 million in revenue within five years.
  • Exit Potential: There must be a credible path to an exit within three to seven years

Process

  • Review: A screening committee evaluates applications based on geographic presence, technology focus, and growth potential.
  • Pitch: Selected entrepreneurs are invited to present at one of CI's member meetings, which occur nine times annually between August and May.
  • Diligence: If members are interested, a committee—often assisted by students from the Allen Angel Capital Education Program—conducts deep-dive due diligence.
