Description

Valhalla Private Capital is a full-service corporate finance firm and angel investment network based in Calgary, Canada. It operates under a "five-pillar" business model, supporting the entire lifecycle of entrepreneurs from "cradle to exit."
  • Early Stage: Primarily targets pre-seed, seed, and early-stage ventures.
  • Full Lifecycle: Through its diverse services, it supports companies from ideation through scaling to potential merger and acquisition (M&A) exits.
  • Method: Founders apply through the Dealum platform. This process sets up a "deal room" for the company to manage communication with the investment team.
  • Requirements: A complete application must include a pitch deck, financial overview, and a fact sheet.
  • Initial Review: Once submitted, a deal screening team reviews the materials to determine if the startup is suitable for a presentation.

Eligibility

  • Sectors: Industry-agnostic but shows strong historical activity in biotechnology, health, ICT (Information and Communication Technology), fintech, real estate, and hospitality.
  • Geography: Strong preference for Western Canadian companies (Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan), though it has an international footprint in over 15 countries.

Process

  1. Deal Screening: Startups selected from the initial application participate in a 25-minute meeting with the Deal Screening committee (10-minute pitch followed by 10-minute Q&A).
  2. Valhalla Angels Forum: Successful candidates are invited to pitch their business ideas to accredited angel investors at the Valhalla Angels Forum.
  3. Due Diligence: Interested investors conduct a review to verify business and financial claims.
  4. Investment: Funding decisions are made by individual investors or through Valhalla’s family of debt and equity funds.
