Description

VisionTech Angels is a member-led angel investment network based in the Midwest (primarily Indiana and Ohio) that connects accredited investors with high-growth startups. As of 2026, it remains one of the region's most active groups, focusing on "adding fuel" to the innovation economy through capital and mentorship.
  • Early-Stage & Early-Growth: VisionTech targets companies beyond the pure idea phase that are ready for commercialization or scaling.
  • Bridge Funding: They often aim to bridge the gap between initial seed funding and larger institutional venture rounds.
  • Bi-Monthly Events: VisionTech hosts regular pitch sessions throughout the year.
  • Rolling Basis: Applications are accepted year-round through their online portal.
  • 2026 Events: They remain active with scheduled events, including participation in major industry summits like the ACA Summit of Angel Investing 2026

Founders must apply through a standardized digital process rather than direct email submissions.
  • Online Portal: Applications are handled via the Venture360 platform.
  • Requirements: Founders must provide a pitch deck, executive summary, financial forecasts, and a short elevator pitch (recorded via webcam or uploaded).

Eligibility

  • Sector Focus: Primarily Life Sciences, SaaS, IoT, Agtech, Advanced Materials, Supply Chain, and Hardware.
  • Geography: Strong preference for the Midwest, though they consider high-growth deals from across the United States.
  • Criteria: They look for "market-ready" platforms with credible exit potential and strong management teams.

Process

  1. Online Screening: VisionTech reviews over 400 applications annually to ensure fit and readiness.
  2. Screening Committee: Approximately 80 companies per year meet with a screening committee of experienced investors.
  3. Member Pitch: No more than 12–16 finalists per year are invited to present at bi-monthly virtual or live pitch events.
  4. Due Diligence: If members express sufficient interest (typically a minimum of $100,000 weighted interest), a collaborative due diligence process is launched.
  5. Investment: A single-purpose entity (SPE) is formed to make a combined investment on behalf of the participating angels.
