Bonillo (often stylized as BonBillo) is an international social impact accelerator headquartered in New York City. It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that helps startups contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
  • Pre-Seed and Seed: The program is designed for early-stage social entrepreneurs who have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and are looking for a path to scale.
  • Social Impact Focus: It targets companies that are transitioning from initial validation to sustainable commercial growth with a measurable social mission.
  • Method: Founders apply through the BonBillo website or via partner portals like F6S.
  • Focus: The application requires a clear explanation of how the business aligns with one or more of the 17 UN SDGs (e.g., Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Energy).
  • Requirement: Applicants must demonstrate a sustainable business model where impact and profit grow together.

Eligibility

  • Sectors: Education, Health, Environment, Financial Inclusion, and Gender Equality.
  • Geography: Global. The program is virtual, allowing participation from startups in North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
  • Team: Preference for teams with diverse backgrounds and a deep commitment to their social mission. 

Process

The program follows a structured 9-week intensive virtual format:

  1. Selection: A competitive review based on team background and impact potential.
  2. Accelerator Program: Weekly sessions focused on impact measurement, marketing, sales, and fundraising.
  3. Mentorship: 1:1 matching with experienced social entrepreneurs and industry experts.
  4. Demo Day: A final pitch event connecting founders to a global network of social impact investors and venture capitalists. 

What an Applicant can Obtain

  • Resources: Access to over $50,000 in perks, including credits for AWS, HubSpot, and legal services.
  • Network: Direct introductions to impact-focused VC funds, angel networks, and potential corporate partners.
  • Impact Certification: Support in developing an impact framework to help with future "Green" or "Social" financing.
