Description
The BARDA DRIVe (Division of Research, Innovation, and Ventures) Accelerator Network is a strategic initiative by the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). It is a public-private partnership designed to accelerate the development of health security solutions. It is specifically designed to move products through the "Valley of Death" between initial research and commercial viability.
-
Method: Founders do not apply to the government directly first; they engage with one of the 13 regional accelerators in the network (e.g., Texas Medical Center, University City Science Center, or SUNY).
-
Submission: Startups submit a pitch deck and a "Market Input" or "White Paper" tailored to specific BARDA areas of interest (AOI).
-
Focus: Areas include Sepsis detection, early notification of infection, and wearable sensors for health security.
