Startups must apply through the Astia Expert Sift™, a proprietary screening process.

Key Criterion: The company must have at least one woman in a position of executive leadership (CEO, CTO, etc.) with a meaningful equity stake.
Referral: While not mandatory, referrals from the Astia network can help prioritize applications.

Diversity: Must include at least one woman in a top-level executive leadership role.
Sector: Sector-agnostic, with strong historical activity in Life Sciences, HealthTech, SaaS, and Consumer Tech.
Geography: Global. Astia has active investor hubs in the US, UK, and Europe.

The "Astia Expert Sift" is designed to eliminate the gender bias found in traditional pitching:

Online Submission: Founders submit their business details and pitch deck.
Expert Sift: Applications are reviewed by a pool of 5,000+ volunteer experts who provide feedback and scoring on the business's viability.
Astia Angels Presentation: High-scoring companies are invited to pitch to the Astia Angels network during monthly virtual sessions.
Due Diligence: Interested investors form a deal team to conduct deep-dive due diligence.
Investment: Funding is aggregated from individual angels and the Astia Fund (their dedicated venture arm).

Capital: Access to a syndicate of high-net-worth individuals and Astia's own venture fund.
Expertise: Direct feedback from a massive network of industry-specific experts.
Visibility: Exposure to a global network of co-investors; Astia often syndicates with top-tier VCs.
