Arm

Officially launched in January 2016, operating twice a year. It is dedicated to gather innovation power and cultivate cutting-edge technology unicorns.

Description

ARM Accelerator (also known as the Arm IoT Fund or part of Arm’s broader Innovation Ecosystem) is a specialized startup support platform managed by Arm, the global leader in semiconductor and software design.
  • Method: Founders typically apply through specific partnership portals or regional hubs (such as the Arm Accelerator in China or the Arm AIoT ecosystem).
  • Focus: Applicants must demonstrate how their product leverages Arm's IP (Intellectual Property) to solve challenges in IoT, AI, or Automotive sectors.
  • Inquiry: Founders can explore opportunities via the Arm Ecosystem website.

Eligibility

  • Sector: IoT (Internet of Things), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, and Automotive.
  • Technology: Must be building on or for the Arm architecture.
  • Geography: Global, with significant physical hubs in China (Beijing/Shenzhen) and partnerships in the UK and US

Process

  1. Technical Review: Unlike traditional accelerators, the first step is often a "technical fit" assessment to ensure the startup’s hardware/software aligns with Arm's architecture.
  2. Mentorship: Selected startups receive 1:1 technical guidance from Arm engineers.
  3. Go-To-Market: Arm facilitates introductions to their massive global supply chain of silicon partners and OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers).
  4. Ecosystem Integration: Startups gain access to Arm’s development tools and software libraries to optimize their products.

What an Applicant can Obtain

  • Technical Access: Access to proprietary Arm IP, software tools, and technical support.
  • Market Exposure: Features in Arm’s marketing channels and participation in events like Arm TechCon.
  • Supply Chain Connections: Direct access to thousands of companies within the Arm ecosystem for potential manufacturing or distribution deals.
  • Capital: While the "Accelerator" is primarily technical, Arm’s venture arm (or partner funds like SoftBank) may provide direct capital to standout graduates.
