Description

AdvisoryClub is an international network and investment platform that connects thousands of executives with startups for advisory board roles and strategic guidance. Startups apply online by submitting detailed business information. AdvisoryClub does not run a single annual competition; instead, it holds monthly pitch sessions (10 times per year):
  • Business Profile: Detailed business model, market potential, and team background.
  • Supporting Documents: A pitch deck and other relevant documentation are typically required.
  • Selection: The process is competitive; successful startups are invited to join the network and participate in pitch sessions.

Eligibility

  • Sector: Primarily tech-driven and scalable companies across various industries.
  • Stage: Must be an early-stage startup ready for advisory support and initial investment.
  • Readiness: Must have a functioning business model and a team background that demonstrates market potential.

Process

AdvisoryClub uses a structured "Advisor + Investor" model to facilitate funding and mentorship:

  1. Live Pitch Sessions: Ten times per year, selected founders pitch to a live audience of advisors on Zoom.
  2. Voting: Advisors on the "Investor Plan" vote for the startup they believe deserves investment.
  3. Due Diligence: Following a successful vote, AdvisoryClub conducts formal due diligence to finalize the investment.
  4. Board Matching: Startups are matched with executives for advisory roles to provide long-term strategic guidance.

What an Applicant can Obtain

  • Capital: Access to monthly investment opportunities driven by the advisor network.
  • Advisory Board: Formal matching with experienced executives who can serve in advisory or board roles.
  • Strategic Guidance: Ongoing mentorship in areas such as fundraising, business model refinement, and operational scaling.
