Description

Accelerate Venture Partners (AVP) is an angel investor syndicate based in Wichita, Kansas, that operates as a program of the non-profit organization NXTUS. It is not a traditional cohort-based accelerator, but rather a collaborative group of active investors who provide capital and mentorship to early-stage startups. AVP seeks entrepreneurs with "game-changing ideas" and scalable business models capable of delivering returns to investors. The group focuses on startups that can have a meaningful economic impact on Wichita, Kansas, and the broader Heartland/Midwest region. Monthly Pitches: Regular pitch meetings occur throughout the year (e.g., sessions held in February and December 2025). Gamechangers and Champions: AVP co-hosted a high-energy event for Kansas startups and investors on March 21, 2025, which included networking and a pitch competition. 



Eligibility

  • Sector: Industry-agnostic; they consider high-growth startups in every sector.
  • Geography: Primarily focused on Wichita and the Midwest/Heartland.
  • Traction: Applicants must demonstrate progress with their product or service and show early market traction.

Process

  1. Monthly Pitch Meetings: AVP hosts monthly events where two to three curated startups present "Shark Tank-style" pitches to members.
  2. Investor Engagement: Members engage in Q&A sessions with the founders to energize the community and enrich their understanding of the investment potential.
  3. Autonomous Decisions: Because AVP is a syndicate and not a fund, each investor retains full autonomy over their individual investment choices.
  4. Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs): Transactions are typically executed through an LLC (SPV) formed specifically for that investment opportunity.
