Eligibility

  • Location: Applicants must live or work in Connecticut.
  • Background: Must have a background or education in science, medicine, or technology (typically a degree earned within the past ten years).
  • Invention Type: Focuses on IP-based inventions in areas like therapeutics, diagnostics, medical devices, and digital health.

Process

  1. Selection: A competitive entry process identifies promising scientific and technical minds.
  2. Curriculum: A 6-month program featuring a mini-MBA curriculum, entrepreneurship education, and a preliminary bootcamp.
  3. Active Support: Includes multiple workshops, roundtables, practice pitches, and one-on-one coaching with accredited entrepreneur coaches.
  4. Culmination: The program ends with an annual Pitch Day where ventures present to potential investors and industry leaders

What an Applicant can Obtain

  • No Direct Funding: ABCT is free and does not provide direct cash investment.
  • Mentorship & Networking: Access to dozens of expert mentors, venture advisors from corporate supporters (e.g., Pfizer, Microsoft), and the NYC biosciences community.
  • Skill Development: Professional training in fundraising, team building, IP, and business model definition
