  • Direct Submission: Founders are encouraged to "write in" via the Official Website.
  • Medici Project: For those not yet a founder but working on a project, they offer $1,000 grants. Applicants must email a five-minute Loom video describing themselves and their project.
  • Focus: They look for "dropouts, renegades, and mad scientists" pushing the limits of knowledge, often in deep tech or sci-fi categories. 

Eligibility

  • Target Profile: Founders without undergraduate degrees, renegade students, or deep-tech scientists.
  • Sectors: Technology-focused, specifically software, deep tech/sci-fi tech, hardware with a data play, and biotech.
  • Geography: They make initial investments globally, but the Medici Project grants are limited to teams based in North America.

Process

  1. Submission: All website submissions are read by the team.
  2. Initial Contact: If interested, the team typically reaches out within a few days.
  3. Onboarding: Successful investments kick off with an onboarding meeting within a week of deal closure.
  4. Ongoing Support: They provide weekly peer-support calls, mock board meetings, and a very active community group for hiring and advice.

What an Applicant can Obtain

  • Community: Access to a network of 3,000+ hackers and makers.
