Startups apply through an online platform to be considered for one of their periodic pitch forums. They look for impressive teams in attractive markets with a focus on data and traction.
Eligibility
Traction: Companies should ideally have at least 6 months of customer data. Most funded companies have revenues between $50,000 and $500,000.
Sector: While 80% of investments are in technology, they are sector-agnostic, with a portfolio split roughly into 45% B2B, 30% B2C, and 25% B2B2C.
Geography: While they have a strong presence in New York (65% of portfolio), they invest in companies across the United States.
Gender: Despite the network being composed of female investors, they invest in both male and female founders.
Process
Online Application: Founders submit their company details, deck, and financials through the website.
Screening: The network reviews hundreds of applications to select a shortlist.
Initial Interview: Selected founders have a 20-30 minute screening call with a member of the investment team.
Pitch Forum: Finalists are invited to pitch in person (typically in NYC) to the full network of 37 Angels investors.
Due Diligence: If interest is high, a dedicated team conducts deep-dive due diligence over 2–4 weeks.
Investment: Funding is finalized for companies that successfully pass the diligence phase.
What an Applicant can Obtain
Capital: Individual investments typically range from $50,000 to $200,000 per company from the network.
Network: Access to more than 100 experienced female angel investors with backgrounds in various industries.
Education: Insights into the angel investment process and honest, transparent feedback on their pitch.
